Police Trade-In TR-1000 Riot Helmet

Protecting the face is one of the most important functions of riot gear. Thrown projectiles, chemicals, and other aerial hazards are common in unruly crowds, and a very real danger to officer safety and coordination. In a pinch, many riot operations are conducted with just helmets and batons.

The Safariland/Protech 906/TR1000 is a family of non ballistic riot helmets that prioritizes lightweight blunt force protection, and a high quality Lexan face shield from Paulson.

 The shell is a durable injection molded polycarbonate with a comfortable cushioned liner and simple chin strap harness. It also has a foam protector that extends from the bottom of the shell for extra coverage, with ear holes so your hearing isn't occluded. The shield also seals to the helmet when deployed to channel liquid & other small debris away from the user's eyes. The whole package weighs under 4 pounds, which makes it easy to wear for extended periods of time.

Sizing

All helmets are Medium, which is going to fit most. Those of you who have larger heads, it might be a bit of a tighter squeeze. Warehouse lads with 23.5" and 24" head circumference measurements fit, but it was snug.

Condition

"New Gen": Has a more modern neoprene helmet liner.
"Old Gen": Has a more traditional vinyl helmet liner.

The "Gas Mask" visor juts out from the helmet further in order to accomodate a gas mask to be worn by the user.

Great: Needs Minimal T&E. Just a polish of the visor and a wipedown and your helmet will be in excellent condition. Inner liner is intact, and flake minimally or not at all. The foam padding around the back and side of the helmet only lifts on the edges, or not at all. Chin cup is present, and fully intact. Visor may be worn. Rear protective Kevlar neck protector is present. 

Good: Usable, but needs T&E. Visor polish, gluing of the foam liner inside, or small splits in the chin cup may be present. Inner liner is intact, and flakes minimally. May have tears in the liner. Foam padding around the back and sides of the helmet is present, but may need to be re-glued. Chin cup may be split on the edges, but remains functional (and repairable). Visor may be worn. Rear protective Kevlar neck protector may be missing.
